We are happy to have some great pictures from the Connie Foundation’s “Booooby Poker Run”, which was held Sunday, October 27, 2013 (please see Kraftycat’s earlier blog “Connie Foundation Supports Breast Cancer Survivors”.)

Shown at the sign-in booth/starting point of the “Booooby Poker Run” is Debbie Moore (on the far left), a co-founder of the Connie Foundation, Kari Messinger, the coodinator of the Run and two other volunteers. All volunteers wore pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

Some of the many motorcycles at the staring point. Everyone was excited to get on the road and start the day’s events!

Business was booming at all of the pit-stops along the route. A big THANK YOU to the many businesses, like Renegades, pictured above, who showed their support by participating in the Run!

The last stop was Jack’s Grumpy Grouper, where food, drinks and a live band waited. Volunteers checked forms for a winning poker hand. All proceeds and donations collected from the Run will be used to help women dealing with breast cancer. For more information about the Connie Foundation, please visit their website  –

Kraftycat Jewelry and Creations was proud to have been a part of the day’s events. Our designer, Fern, made customized keychains with the Connie Foundation symbol for this event and also helped out at the last pit stop.

Our website is still under construction, but aren’t all good things worth waiting for?!

Edited version:

While waiting for the photos from the Connie Foundation’s fund drive, I will update where we are with the website.

As previously stated, the photos we took were not what we had hoped for. Even with some work in Photoshop – it just wasn’t happening!

An “executive decision” was made by part of our creative crew to purchase a new camera. And so we did – one which the sales person at the store told us would give us the quality photos we were looking for(?).

Problem solved?  Well, not quite.  I may be a jewelry designer, but I obviously have a lot to learn about photography.  As you can see by the image above, things are looking up, but it took many shots to figure out the correct lighting. There are several books about digital photography, sitting on my desk, staring at me, while I shoot away.  Probably time to read a chapter or two perhaps? LOL

I will conquer this beast!  I will get the Kraftycatcreations website up and started! I will not have it up in October as I promised myself, but I do promise not to put a date on things such as this – at least in writing!  Maybe the first part of November… (no promises!)

Connie Foundation Fund Drive A Success!

Yesterday’s first annual “Booooby Poker Run” for the Connie Foundation was very successful!  A total of 80 vehicles entered, drove from pitstop to pitstop, collected playing card numbers and hoped for a winning poker hand.  The finish line at Jack’s Grumpy Grouper featured tasty food, drinks and a live band.

Many purchased raffle tickets, Connie Foundation rubber bracelets, temporary tattoos and key chains, which were made for the Connie Foundation by Kraftycat Jewelry & Creations. Other photos of the event will be posted later this week when I receive them.

Winners were announced – a sheet boasting three kings won top prize – and there was even a “booby-prize” winner!  A great time was had by all and the Connie Foundation collected much-needed funds to assist local women and their families affected by breast cancer!
